MULLEN HIGH PROFILE TEAM TOURNAMENT
The Bison Red struggled to get in the win column at the Mullen High Profile Tournament held in St. Louis, Missouri from July 9 - 11, 2011. Experiencing stretches of cold shooting the Reds went 1 - 2 in pool play and then lost to Oklahoma Prime Time, 61 - 64 in the first round of the Silver Tournament.

Highlights: Bison Red was unable to overcome a 22 per cent shooting effort against an all-star team comprised of players from Kansas and Missouri. A 7-for-26 shooting effort in the first half was followed by a 3-for-18 mark in the second half. Bison Red was also outrebounded, 42-20. Jordan Schroer scored eight points to lead Bison Red.<

Highlights: Ethan Montalvo scored 21 points, had five steals, three assists, and six rebounds to lead Bison Red. Montalvo was 7-for-9 from the field and 8-for-9 from the free throw line. John Harris added 12 points, four assists, and three steals. A 19-3 run in the first eight minutes of the second half helped Bison Red cushion a two-point halftime lead. Bison Red, after shooting 22 per cent in its opening pool play game, improved to 50 per cent against the Kansas City team.

Highlights: Another cold-shooting game was too much for Bison Red to overcome as they finished third in pool play. Bison Red held a 35-33 halftime lead, but made just 7 of 26 field goals in the second half and lost the lead for good with 8:33 left in the game. For the game, Bison Red shot 35 per cent from the field and 28 per cent from three-point range. Trey Moore scored 14 points, had three assists and five steals to lead Bison Red. Lincoln High seniors John Harris and Deondre White added 13 and 11 points, respectively. Jake Maslo pulled down seven rebounds.<

Highlights: Bison Red's 19 turnovers helped the Oklahoma squad advance with a first-round win. Bison Red trailed for most of the game, but rallied from a 10-point deficit with 6:56 left in the game to tie it at 61 on a three-point play by John Harris with 36 seconds left. Oklahoma made a free throw with 3.8 seconds left, and Bison Red was forced to foul with 1.3 seconds remaining. After Oklahoma made both free throws, Bison Red committed its final turnover on the inbounds pass. Bison Red shot 50 per cent from the field in the first half, but managed just an 8-for-30 effort in the second half and finished with a 38 per cent mark. Bison Red outrebounded Oklahoma 43-31. John Harris scored 17 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, while Jake Maslo had 14 points and eight rebounds.
