The Bison Red concluded their 2011 season in the Best of Summer Tournament in Anaheim, California from July 27 - 30, 2011. The Reds claimed only one win in pool play, a narrow 50 - 49 victory over Danny Granger Hurricanes from New Mexico. The Reds were ousted from the tournament in the first round, 60 - 66 by R.E.A.C.H. Legends from Michigan.

Highlights: Bison Red overcame a 13-point deficit in the first half to take a 40-35 lead with 7:13 left in the game. Trey Moore scored six points in a 12-1 Bison Red run that started the second half, but turnovers and poor shooting contributed to Bison Red's downfall as the Detroit team closed out the final seven minutes of the game with a 33-14 run. For the game, Bison Red shot just 35 per cent from the field and 45 per cent from the free throw line. Ethan Montalvo and Jake Maslo led the scoring with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Trey Moore had four assists and four steals, while John Harris added four steals.< |

Highlights: Bison Red evened its pool play record with a come-from-behind win. Bison Red held a nine-point lead at halftime, but scored only three points in the first five minutes of the second half while the New Mexico squad went on a 19-3 run and took a 37-30 lead with 10:23 left in the game. Bison Red rallied, however, behind the scoring and rebounding of John Harris, who scored seven of his nine points in the second half. Harris also grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds. Harris' three-point play gave Bison Red a 38-37 lead, but Granger Elite regained a five-point lead with a 13-5 run. Bison Red trailed by one with less than a minute to play, but a play designed for 3-point shooter Ethan Montalvo shook the Omaha Bryan senior free and he drained the shot from just beyond the top of the key. The basket turned out to be the winning points as Granger Elite missed two opportunities, then turned the ball over on its final possession. Bison Red won the game despite shooting just 33 per cent from the field and 40 per cent from the free throw line, including three missed free throws in the final 31 seconds of the game. Trey Moore had five assists, Harris had three, and Jake Maslo blocked three shots.< |

Highlights: Bison Red could not overcome a nearly seven minute scoring drought, and lost its final pool play game. Leading 10-9 with 10:12 left in the first half, Bison Red failed to score until four minutes were left in the half. During that time, BTI rattled off 15 unanswered points to take control with a 24-10 lead. Bison Red never got closer than 10 points the rest of the game. Ethan Montalvo led the team with 15 points, while Omaha Bryan teammate Jake Maslo added 14 points and 14 rebounds. Bison Red continued to struggle from the field, making 19 of 52 shots for 37 per cent.<

Highlights: Bison Red took a three-point halftime lead, but a 10-for-28 field goal shooting effort in the second half helped key the Michigan select team's comeback in an elimination game of the tournament. Bison Red had a much-improved effort compared to its morning loss, but turnovers down the stretch and shooting woes halted any chance of regaining the lead. A 3-pointer by Zach Clemens pulled Bison Red to within five points with 24 seconds left in the game, but a free throw by Michigan with 18 seconds left padded its lead and Bison Red couldn't get any closer. John Harris scored a team-high 13 points and pulled down six rebounds. Bison Red closed out the 31st summer for the Nebraska Basketball Development Association program with a 10-9 record.
