Kendal scored 200 points for the Flyers in 2007, bringing them back to state where they were the D1 Champions in 2006. The D1 - 3 District Champions will face West Boyd in the opening round on Thursday at 3:45 at Lincoln East.

With 8 points and 6 rebounds, Kendal led St. Francis to a 40 - 28 victory over West Boyd and will face Hayes Center in the semifinals.

Kendal hit two freethrows at the end of regulation to send the Flyers semifinal game with Hayes Center into overtime. St. Francis prevailed 65 - 57. Kendal had 24 points in the victory.

The Flyers lost to Fremont Bergan in the championship game, 43 - 56, with Kendal scoring 11 points.


Wes Eikmeier
Fremont Bergan
Wes Eikmeier brings his Archbishop Bergan Knights back to State with a perfect 24 - 0 record. Wes averaged 30.5 points per game. Bergan, the D1 - 1 District Champion will face Kenesaw in round 1 at Lincoln East at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday at Lincoln East.

Wes's 29 points and 6 rebounds were more than enough as Bergan downed Kenesaw 79 - 47. The Knights will face Mead in the semifinal.

Wes's 35 points brought the Knights a second round victory over Mead, 51 - 39.

The Knights claimed the D1 Championship, 56 - 43 over Humphrey St. Francis, with Wes scoring 41 points and setting a new Class D1 tournament record for individual scoring.

Wes was chosen to the Class D1 All Tournament Team and the All Class All Tournament Team.


Michael Fox
Beatrice
Averaging 16.4 points per game, Mike Fox leads the Beatrice Orangemen back to State. Beatrice, the 2007 Class B runner-up will play York in the opening round at the Sports Center at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday.

Mike had 14 points and 6 rebounds to lead Beatrice to victory, 48 - 40 over York. The Orangemen advance to the semifinals to face Gretna.

Beatrice moved on the the championship game with a 40 - 37 win over Gretna. Mike contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Beatrice downed Elkhorn 39 - 36 for the Class B Championship. Mike led the Orangemen with 10 points.

Mike was chosen to the Class B All-Tournament Team.



Andy Morris
Omaha Skutt Catholic
Andy Morris averaged 9.4 points and nearly 5 rebounds for the District B2 Champions, Omaha Skutt Catholic. The Skyhawks will be trying for a third straight Class B Championship when they take the court on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. at the Sports Center against Elkhorn.

Andy scored 6 points as the Skyhawks lost to Elkhorn, 42- 44.

Jake averaged 13.9 points and 7 rebounds for the Skyhawks. Omaha Skutt will play Elkhorn at the Sports Center on Thursday at 9:00 a.m.

Jake scored 17 points and pulled down 10 rebounds but it wasn't enough as Skutt fell to Elkhorn, 42 - 44.


2007 BISON WHITE PLAYERS AT STATE:



Steville Burns
Omaha Benson
Omaha Benson qualified for State by winning the A4 District Championship. Steville averaged 11 points and4.3 rebounds for the Bunnies who will face Bellevue West in round 1 at the Sports Center at 7:00 p.m.

Steville scored 6 points as the Bunnies lost to Bellevue West 57 - 74.
Pete Uhing
Lincoln High
With a 19 - 4 record and the A5 District crown, Pete leads his Links into State with a 10.7 point and 5 rebound average. Lincoln High faces Creighton Prep in the 3:45 game at the Sports Center on Thursday.

Pete scored 8 points as the Links upset Creighton Prep 63 - 57 and advanced to face Bellevue East in the semi-finals.

Lincoln High lost to Bellevue East 45 - 57 in the semifinals. Pete had 6 points.

The Links lost the consolation game to Bellevue West 77 - 78 with Pete scoring 10 points.


Greg Smith
Ralston
The Rams return to State in 2008, led by Greg Smith's 18.5 points per game. The District A1 Champions will open play at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Sports Center.

Greg's 24 points were not enough as the Rams lost to Bellevue East 56 - 60.



Eric Koehlmoos
Pierce
Pierce brings a perfect 23 - 0 record to State and Eric contributed a team leading 15 points per game. The Bluejays play Boystown at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday at Pershing.

Eric scored 14 points and the Bluejays advanced to the semifinals against Hastings St. Cecelia with a 49 - 40 victory over Boys Town.

Eric scored 6 points as Pierce lost to St. Cecelia, 36 - 46.

Pierce claimed 3rd place with a 49 - 44 win over Chadron. Eric scored 19 points for the Bluejays.


Shavontae Samuels
St. Edward

Shavonte scored 27.4 points per game and pulled down 10.8 rebounds per game to lead St Edward to a return trip to State to defend their 2007 crown. The Beavers play Pleasanton at 7:00 p.m. at Lincoln Southeast on Thursday.

Shavontae's 35 points was the best of the day, but it wasn't enough to get the win as St. Edward fell to Pleasanton 48 - 62.


2007 JUNIOR BISON PLAYERS (GOLD & BLUE TEAMS) AT STATE:

Trevor Menke ...... Beatrice: Trevor scored 12 points in leading the Orangemen to a first round win over York, 48 - 40. Trevor's 10 points helped Beatrice reach the finals witha 40 - 37 win over Gretna. Trevor helped lead the Orangemen to the Class B Championship with 7 points in Beatrice's 39 - 36 finals victory. Trevor was chosen to the Class B All Tournament Team.

Zac Bargen ........ Chadron: Zac contributed 9 points to the Cardinals' 50 - 36 win over Lincoln Lutheran on Thursday. Chadron lost to Bennington, 44 - 55 in the semifinals with Zac scoring 6 points. Chadron finished 4th in the tournament, losing to Pierce 44 - 49 with Zac scoring 3 points.

Elliot Eliason ....... Chadron: Elliot's 10 rebounds and 18 points led to Chadron's first round win over Lincoln Lutheran, 50 - 36. The Cardinals lost to Bennington, 44 - 55 in the semifinals. Elliot had 8 points and 13 rebounds. Eliot scored 7 points in the Cardinals' consolation loss to Pierce, 44 - 49. Elliot was chosen to the Class C1 All Tournament Team.

Chauncey Lambert ....... Omaha Benson: The Bunnies lost to Bellevue West 57 - 74 on Thursday.

Dwight Smith ....... Ralston: Dwight scored 13 points, but the Rams lost to Bellevue East 56 - 60 in round one.
