Kearney High Head Coach Scott Steinbrook's comments: Dane Bacon, starting 2 guard, was a key contributor to the success the Kearney High Bearcat basketball team had in 2007-2008. Dane started the entire season. Dane's explosiveness to the basket and soft shooting made him a tough match-up for Bearcat opponents. Dane's season was highlighted by a strong performance in the post-season, where he averaged 13.5 points per game in two District Tournament games, and also a first round state tournament game vs. eventual state champion, Omaha Central.
