Coach Ries is a 2000 Univeresity of South Dakota graduate where he played on wo North Cental Conference Chamipion teams and was twice selected as NCC Academic All Conference. He has been coaching at his high school alma mater for the past seven years where he has compiled an 86 - 47 record placing his team in the top ten three times and qualifying for the state tournament in 2007. In 2004, Coach Ries assisted with the Bison Junior All Star Team. In 2007 he assisted in the Northeast Nebraska All Star game and was the head coach for the Nebraska / South Dakota All Star Game. He was an assistant coach with the 2008 Nebraska Coaches Association All Star Game. Ben lives in Norfolk with his wife, Amy and children Carly (3) and James (1).
