After a 2 - 1 finish in pool play, the Golds lost the tie-breaker and were entered in the Silver Division Tournament at the Hoop City Classic. The Golds lost to Mean Streets Wilburn Chicago, 42 - 54 in the first round, ending their summer season with a 17 - 5 record.

The Nebraska Bison Gold won their first game of the KC Hoops Classic 58-53 over Northwest Ohio. The first half was a see saw battle with the Gold gaining a 2 point lead. The gold had leads of 9 points during the first half but NW Ohio always made comebacks to keep the game close. During the second half again the Gold had a lead of 11 points but good shooting brought NW Ohio back into the game. The NW Ohio team hit 8 three point shots during the game and cut the lead to 1 point with 6:30 to go in the game. The Gold went a 7-0 run during the next four minutes to gain an eight point lead and finish out the game with a victory. One thing that rally hurt the Gold's was poor free throw shooting going 15 for 32 from the charity line.. The leading scorers for the Gold was Noah Housh with 12 followed by Dylan Bohlke with 11 and Connor Lusso with 10. The Gold will play two pool games on Friday and move into tournament action on Saturday..

The Nebraska Bison Gold won their second game of the KC Hoops Classic 47-44 over The Rising Stars of Austin Texas. The first half was a defensive battle with both teams having a tough tine scoring. After the half the Bison Gold built a 10 point lead but the Stars went on a 12-2 run to tie the score at 28-28. From there the game went back and forth with the Bison Gold building another 4 point lead with 2:30 left in the game. The Stars tied the game at 44-44 with 18 seconds to go but committed a costly foul while trying to press. Dylan Bohlke then hit 2 free throws with 5 seconds to go in the game. On the inbounds pass Bohlke intercepted the pass and made an additional free throw to give the Gold a three point lead which was the final margin of victory. Leading the scoring parade was Connor Lusso with 17 points. The Gold will play for the chance to win the pool against a team from Dallas Texas Friday evening

The Nebraska Bison Gold lost their final pool game of the KC Hoops Classic 64-44 to the Dallas Trojans Elite. The Gold fell behind early in the game due to poor shooting and defense and trailed by 12 at halftime. Any early run cut the lead to 8 but over the next 5 minutes the Trojans built the lead to 20 points. The Bison Gold never was never able to mount a rally to cut into the Trojan lead. Leading the Gold scoring was Jack Hummel with 14 points. Three teams in the pool finished with 2-1 records but due to point differential the Bison Gold will play in the Silver Division of the Hoops Classic. The Gold will play at 12:45 on Saturday and if they win will advance to a 7 pm game that evening.

The Nebraska Bison Gold lost their first tournament game of the KC Hoops Classic 54-42 to the Mean Streets of Chicago. After a back and forth first half the Bison Gold built a 28-21 late 1st half lead and had two chances to extend the lead before half time but good defense by Mean Streets helped to cut the lead to 3 at half. The Mean Streets came out in a 2-3 zone in the second half and the Bison Gold went cold during the second half scoring only 9 points. The Means Streets had a 9 point lead with 5 minutes to go but the Bison Gold cut the lead to three and had three different chances to tie the game but were unable to convert the scoring opportunities. Leading scorers for the Bison Gold were Connor Lusso with 10 points followed by Preston Luedtke with 9 points. With the loss the Bison Gold concludes its summer season with a 17-5 record.
