The Bison Gold lost their first game of the Hoops City Classic tournament 62-51 to Mean Streets. The Gold fell behind early and were never able to catch the Mean Street. After a cold start in the second half the Gold cut the lead to 5 with 1:18 to go but a 3 point play on a missed shot spelled the end of the rally. The Gold had to foul and the Mean Street converted from the foul line to win by 11. Leading the scoring for the Gold were Jordan Schroer and John Harris Jr. both with 10 points. The Gold will play Team Texas on Thursday morning.

The Bison Gold lost the second game of the Hoops City Classic Tournament 64-54 to Team Texas Swoosh.. The Gold got behind early due to poor shooting and a very athletic Texas team. Team Texas went on a 26 -11 run to start the game. The Gold trailed by 17 at half and by 19 early in the second half. At that point the Gold starting chipping away at the Texas lead and cut the lead down to 6 points with 3:40 to go but again a 3 point play hurt the Gold come back. Team Texas was able to make free throws at the end of the game to advance to pool championship against Mean Street. The Gold hurt themselves with 5 for 14 shooting from the free throw line. The Gold were lead in scoring by Brady Barrett with 12 followed by Ryan Sievers with 11 and Kiefer Museil with 10. The Gold will close out pool play on Thursday evening against the Kansas Dream Team.

The Gold finished pool play in the Hoops City Classic Tournament with a 77-38 victory over the Kansas Dream Team. Starting with a tough pressing defense and good shooting the Gold jump out to an early 8-0 lead.and cruised to a 27 point lead at half. In the second half the Gold never let up and finished of the Dream team with the biggest margin of victory of the summer. The Gold were lead in scoring by Brady Barrett with 16 points followed by Sam Hahn with 12 and Jordan Schroer with 10. The Gold will enter tournament play Friday morning against an opponent to be determined.

The Bison Gold won their first game of the consolation tournament of the Hoops City Classic 83-52 over t he Kansas City Saints. Leading 20 -19 the Gold went a 16-0 to end the first half to lead by 17. In the second half with a pressing defense the Gold extended the lead to as many as 41.and cruised to the victory. Leading the Gold were Connor Beranek with 16 and Kiefer Musiel with 14. The Gold will play their next game tonight at 5:45.
