Highlights: Before an estimated crowd of about 100 college coaches, Bison Red rallied from an 18-point deficit with 9:03 left in the game, but came up just short of defeating an Indiana team that reached the semifinals of the Hoosier Shootout and is considered one of the top teams in the Kentucky Hoopfest with four or five Division I players. Greg Smith scored a team-high 25 points, but it was Pete Uhing's shooting and Trent Miller's steals that keyed a 11-0 second-half run that got Bison Red back into the game. Taylor Price's 3-pointer with 1:58 left in the game gave Bison Red a 77-74 lead, but Spiece answered with a 3 then built the lead to four on a pair of free throws with six seconds left. A 3-pointer by Dane Bacon at the buzzer produced the final score. Miller, who has led the team in steals this summer, had seven against Spiece. Uhing was 5-for-9 from 3-point range to finish with 15 points. Bacon added 14 points.

Highlights: Bison Red evened its pool play record at 1-1 on the strength of a 18-for-26 shooting effort in the first half that produced an 18-point halftime lead. Charlotte cut the margin to six with 9:43 left in the game, but Dwight Smith scored five points while Jake Marvin and Pete Uhing drained 3s to spark an 11-2 run. Steville Burns had five assists and three steals while Trent Miller had three assists and four steals. Drew Sankey pulled down seven rebounds.

Highlights: With its second loss of the tournament, Bison Red finished in third place in its pool with a 1-2 record and will play in the Bronze Division starting Friday morning. Another slow start spelled trouble for Bison Red as the Canadian team sprinted to leads of 24-9 and 33-13 in the first half. Bison Red closed out the first half with a 16-3 run, but never regained that momentum in the second half as Champlain opened with a 10-4 run. Bison Red struggled from the field in the first half, hitting just 11 of 26 field goals and was outrebounded 18-9. |
