Bison Red 4 - 1 In Indy
The Bison Red swept their pool opponents at the Hoosier Shootout, with an average 25 point margin. The first round of the tournament was another blowout with the Bison continuing their hot shooting, connecting on 60% of their shots from the field to defeat WODT 84 - 50. But the shooting went cold in the second round and the Reds suffered their first loss of the summer, 64 - 75 to East Coast (a team from Virginia / West Virginia).

Highlights: Bison Red survived a second-half rally by the Michigan team that sliced an 18-point halftime lead to five with 9:10 left in the game. Drew Sankey scored five unanswered points to provide some breathing room and a 10-0 run in the closing 2:57 of the game helped seal the win. Greg Smith led Bison Red with 19 points and eight rebounds. Steville Burns scored 12 of his 17 points in the first half. Gretna's Trent Miller had four steals and two assists while Dwight Smith and Pete Uhing each had three assists.

Highlights: Bison Red shot 58 per cent from the field and outrebounded Old Gold 38-26 to win its second straight pool game. Leading scorer Jake Marvin was 7 for 9 from the field while Drew Sankey was 6 for 9 and Greg Smith made 5 of 6. Sankey pulled down a team-high nine rebounds. Steville Burns, Trent Miller and Dwight Smith all had four assists.

Highlights: Bison Red boosted its summer record to 9-0 while winning its pool at the Hoosier Shootout. Bison Red shot 56 per cent from the field while holding Big Game Sports to a 38 per cent effort. Defensive pressure forced 19 Big Game Sports' turnovers as Dwight Smith, Trent Miller and Steville Burns each had three steals. Burns scored 10 of his 16 points in the second half as he led four players in double figures. Jake Marvin pulled down a team-high seven rebounds and scored 13 points. Miller had five assists and five rebounds. Bison Red's 3-point shooting, which had been below 25 per cent for the first two games of pool play, improved to 35 per cent as six different players made 3s. Taylor Price hit a pair of 3s in the first half.

Highlights: Bison Red's hot shooting continued at the Hoosier Shootout as a 60 per cent effort keyed the opening win in tournament bracket play. The shooting was especially sound in the second half as the squad made 20 of 23 field goals. Greg Smith was 8 for 11 from the field en route to a team-high 17 points. Steville Burns added 16 points, five assists and two steals while Trent Miller had four steals. Jake Marvin pulled down a game-high nine rebounds.

Highlights: Bison Red suffered its first loss of the summer to a select team from West Virginia/Virginia in the second round of the Hoosier Shootout. East Coast sprinted to a 18-3 lead in the game's opening six minutes and Bison Red never got closer than eight points the rest of the game. After shooting more than 50 per cent from the field in previous tournament games, Bison Red struggled against East Coast, making only 25 of 67 shots for 37 per cent. A 44 per cent effort from the free throw line (11 for 25) and a 14 per cent mark from 3-point range (3 for 21) dashed any comeback hopes. Greg Smith led Bison Red with 14 points and eight rebounds.
