The Bison Gold lost their first game of the Silver Bracket to the D-1 Sports Team of Raleigh, NC 52-53 on a put back with less than 5 seconds remaining. It was a see-saw battle in the first half with the Bison Gold giving up their slight lead in the last 1:30, with a halftime score of 30-34. Darrius Vick, Connor Schultz and Cody Charlton hit several early threes to maintain a slight cushion early, but D-1’s 6’8 300+lb center caused some problems in the low post. The second half saw much of the same action as the first half with leads no more than 3-5 points, mainly by the Bison. In the waning moments of the game with a one point lead and while D-1 was intentionally fouling, a jump ball gave the ball back to D-1 Sports; An off balance shot went long, but a rebound and put back with 4 seconds to go in the game by their center sealed the win for D-1 Sports.
