After trailing by 16 the Bison Blue made a great comeback during the second half to tie the game with 3 minutes to go. Both teams had chances to win the game in the last minute but the game went into overtime. Travis Scheuler of Grand Island hit a clutch basket and Dylan Heath of Lincoln Southwest added two clutch freet throws in OT to seal the win for the Gold. Travis Scheular of Grand Island lead the scoring with 11 points. Poor free throw shooting and key turnovers at the end of the game hurt the Bison Gold’s chances of victory. Eathan Brozek and Dyaln Heath lead the score for the Gold with 8 points each. The Gold finished with a 2-1 pool record and will play the Cornhusker shooting stars in the first round of the tournament.

Cody Carlton led the way with 14 points followed by Zach Sterup with 13. The Gold could not pull away from the Shooting Stars but a big run with 7 minutes to go in the game sealed the victory. The Bison Gold will play the Omaha Crusaders Gold in the semi-finals. Again poor free throw shooting and key turnovers at the end of the game hurt the Gold’s chances of winning. The Gold trailed by 3 at half but a strong defensive effort early in the second half let the Bison Gold get a 5 point margin with 6 minutes remaining in the game. Three turnovers in row lead to scoring plays by the Crusader’s. From that point the game was a see-saw back in forth. The score was tied at 57-57 with 30 seconds to go with the Gold trying to take the last shot. A turnover gave the ball to the Crusaders with 10 seconds to go and on the inbounds play Steve Ferrarini hit a three point shot with 3 seconds left. The Gold’s Ethan Brozek’s shot at the buzzer bounced off the back of the rim. The Gold’s scoring was led by Eric Donald and Zach Sterup with 12 points each. The Bison Gold finished the tournament with a 3-2 record and will next play in the Hooiser Shot Out starting on July 6th.
